Amir made a big statement on Rohit, said- ‘struggled’ to face the Indian captain

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir recalled a comment by current India captain Rohit Sharma and took a dig at him. This was a comment made by Rohit in 2016 when India were about to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup in Kolkata. Notably, Rohit had called the left-arm pacer “just a normal bowler” at the time and Amir was not shy in recalling the moment, taking a dig at the current Men in Blue captain.
It was only after a month that former India captain Virat Kohli praised the Pakistan bowler and deemed him a “world-class” bowler after his exceptional spell against India, where Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Suresh Raina Got out. Although Kohli rose to the occasion and saved the day for India in that game, Amir finished with impressive numbers of 3 for 18.
Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, calmed Amir’s promotions before their clash against Pakistan in the 2016 T20 World Cup.

“Stop talking about him already. He’s not the only bowler, Pakistan have five other bowlers who are doing well for him. There’s just so much hype around him, I don’t think a match It would be right to give him a lot of hype after that. He is good but he needs to prove it again and again. Now people are comparing him to Wasim Akram. He is just a normal bowler, that day if he is good, So he’s good. It’s not like he turns and blows everyone up,” Rohit said before the game.

“I don’t take Rohit Sharma’s statement seriously. Everyone has their own opinion and it is impossible that everyone considers me as a world class bowler. There is nothing bad in that and as a professional we don’t have to Gotta take things in a negative way. You can’t be everyone’s favourite. No doubt he is a world class batsman. I have bowled well every time I have faced Rohit and he faced me. He has struggled, yet I would call him a world class player.” Amir was quoted by Esports on a private news channel.
Notably, a year later when Rohit commented on Amir’s class, he was once again dismissed by the left-hander in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy. He was in good spirit in the final in which he dismissed Rohit, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan to guide Pakistan to lift the trophy at the Oval.
