Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s action-thriller ‘Dawn’, which made a comeback in 1978, recalls the ‘mile long’ series in theaters.
On Instagram, Amitabh said, “My DON movie was booked … and they said … the queues were a mile long … released in 1978 … 44 years! , Ganga Ki Saukand … 5 blockbusters in one year! Some of them ran for over 50 weeks … Oh, those are the days! ”
The vintage film shared by the ‘Sholay’ actor revealed that the superstar’s devout fans stood in long queues and cheered in front of the theaters.
The extreme love that people have for Amitabh is evident from the film. The movie ‘Dawn’ 44 years ago is one of Amitabh’s notable films.
The storyline follows the story of a wanted criminal who was injured in a police chase.
However, at the turn of fate, another man named Vijay, who looks like the culprit’s duplicator, tries to find out the details of his illegal activities instead. Since the 1978 film, it has been a part of three remakes of ‘Dawn’, ‘Dawn’, ‘Dawn 2’ and ‘Dawn: The Chase Ends’, all starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Amitabh Bachchan, popularly known as Big B, was aptly known as ‘Shaheenshah’ of Bollywood in the 1970s. He created his image on screen as an ‘angry young man’ by portraying aggressive characters in some films like ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Mukhtar Ka Sikander’, ‘Deewar’ and ‘Kala Pathar’.
Meanwhile, the 79-year-old Amitabh Bachchan will next be seen in Ian Mukherjee’s epic drama ‘Brahmastra’ with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt on September 9.
In addition, Big B has completed shooting for ‘Unchai’ starring Parineeti Chopra, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani.
