Amul pays tribute to Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’
MUMBAI: Dairy brand Amul, known for its light billboards and contemporary themes, on Monday paid tribute to Alia Bhatt starrer “Gangubai Kathiawadi” in its new advertisement. The company shared the artwork on its Instagram handle with the caption, “Success of new Bollywood release, Gangubai Kathiawadi…”
In it, Alia can be seen in her iconic pose as Gangubai, holding three slices of bread in her hand. Amul also used funny words in Alia’s name with the words ‘Khaliya Bhattar’.
Alia also took to her Instagram handle and shared a story that featured the ad.
Amul’s humorous one-liners on topics related to movies, politicians, political events and famous people have entertained people for many years. Brands promote their products with creative advertisements that are engaging, enjoyable and discuss the topic they tackle.
‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which released on Friday, February 25, opened to a good response at the Indian box office and collected Rs 10.50 crore on the first day.
The film revolves around a young woman sold into prostitution and how she becomes a prominent and iconic figure in the underworld and Kamathipua red-light district. It also stars superstar Ajay Devgan in an important role.
