Bhushan Kumar says that Karthik Aryan has helped finance the upcoming film Shejatha
New Delhi: Filmmaker Bhushan Kumar has lauded actor Karthik Aryan for revealing its impact on cast fees and the films that producers can produce and the overall budget of the film. Kumar shared that budget cuts are being made in other sectors if an actor comes at a big price. The producer praised Karthik and said that they have financially supported their upcoming film ‘Shejada’. The two co-starred in the recently released Pool Pulia 2 directed by Annas Pasmi, which was a huge success at the box office. The film also stars Tabu and Kiara Advani.
“Today, people want to see bigger cinema than life, and you have to pay more to make those films. It is not possible to take pictures like this without the support of the actors and many of them are doing it now. Karthik, for example, he supported us a lot. This factor is very important to create a big budget image. Today we compromise on budget if cast fees are high. Bhushan told Pingvilla.
Apart from ‘Pool Pulia 2’ and the upcoming film ‘Shejada’, Bhushan and Karthik have a long association and both have collaborated for ‘Pathi Patni Aur Wo’.
Kumar explained that not every film that earns Rs 100 crore has to be profitable.
“Every film does not have to fetch Rs 100 crore. Our Pati Patni Aur Wo movie was a super hit, grossing Rs 92 crore. Today Pool Pulia 2 has grossed Rs 150 crore, but we would have been in a happy place even at Rs 80 to 90 crore. We want our next film to do better than Shehzad, Pool Pulia 2, but that is not a criterion because the finances of that film are different. Karthik was financially supportive of us during the turbulent times and congratulations to him, ”he shared.
Kriti Sanon plays Karthik opposite Rohit Dhawan in ‘Shejada’. The film is the official Hindi remake of the super hit ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramulu’ released in Telugu. Earlier, it was reported that Karthik had threatened to quit the film. He is said to have done so as the original Telugu filmmakers had planned to re-release the film in theaters in the Hindi belt.
