Biden appointee mercilessly trolls ‘petulant man-child’ Ron DeSantis

Governor Ron DeSantis is being slammed by a Biden-appointed official as a ‘mini-Donald Trump’ and ‘man child’ as the support builds for the Republican official to run for president in 2024.

Gwen Graham, a department of education assistant secretary, has nearly turned her Twitter page into an anti-DeSantis platform and recently said she figured him out a ‘long time ago’ when the two represented the state of Florida in Congress.

DeSantis won a second term as the state’s governor on Nov. 8 over Democrat Charle Crist in the latest sign that the state has swung further to the right. He had previously served in Florida’s House of Representatives between 2013 to 2018.

Leading up to the midterm elections, Graham posted a series of tweets against DeSantis in between posts that glorify President Joe Biden or show off her life as a politician.

‘Look at the date on this tweet,’ Graham tweeted on October 27 while referencing a previous one from September 2019. ‘Over three years ago. I figured Ron out a long time ago when we served in Congress together. Simply bad.

Graham was referencing her previous tweet where she failed to persuade the public that DeSantis wasn’t who she said he was.

‘Do NOT believe the @GovRonDeSantis’ bipartisan spin,’ Graham wrote. ‘He is a mini @realDonaldTrump. To the Floridians… who have said, “He isn’t as bad as I thought he would be,” I say, “No, he is worse.” Pay attention, Florida. Actions speak louder than words.

It appeared as if Florida residents took Graham’s warning not too seriously since the governor won by almost 20 votes, including in the unthinkably blue Miami-Dade County.

Gwen Graham, a department of education official, has echoed her distaste in DeSantis for years in failed attempts to warn the public about him on Twitter.

DeSantis’s rise to stardom began as he refused to follow public health guidance. As of late, it has turned into frequent spars with the Biden administration on everything from immigration to gender expression in classrooms.

Graham previously attempted to slam DeSantis on Twitter and dubbed him a ‘cowardly bully.’

While Graham didn’t give context to her back her claim against the Florida governor she has appeared to stand by her statements.

‘I know Ron,’ she wrote in June. ‘He is a coward, a bully. He will turn and run when he cannot use his office as a stage to make him look fake big. He is tiny.

She also called the governor a ‘man child’ in January 2021 and posted a meme of DeSantis as Lord Farquaad from Shrek with the words: ‘Some of you may die. But that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

In a recent attempt to defame DeSantis, Graham poked at the governor during his gubernatorial debate with Crist on October 24.

‘No amount of debate training will help Ron,’ Graham wrote on Twitter. ‘Not possible. He will be eaten alive if he ever (&, please NO) makes it to the Presidential debate stage. If Trump, or any R with Presidential ambitions, was watching tonight, they are looking forward to the opportunity to destroy him.

It appeared as if Graham was referencing Crist’s question to DeSantis about his ambitions for governor and if he’s spent all four years of his term in the governor’s mansion.

DeSantis has taken on a national profile in the past two years, opening up his state earlier than others during the COVID-19 pandemic and adopting a central role in the nation’s culture wars.

Shortly before the election, he ordered the state to fly migrants from Texas to the smartly liberal enclave of Martha’s Vineyard in protest at the federal government’s failure to stop people crossing the southern border.

He built a war chest of some $200 million during this past election and is well-placed to launch a presidential run once the formalities of re-election are out of the way.

A strong showing with Florida’s Hispanics could set him up as the sort of Republican who can build a multi-ethnic coalition and win the White House back from Democrats.

The results from Miami-Dade, with its large Latino population, suggest he has done exactly that.

The 44-year-old frequently tops polls of who Republicans would like to run for the White House in 2024 – if former President Donald Trump sits it out.

For his part, Trump sees the danger and has been firing shots across the governor’s bows.

At a rally in Pennsylvania earlier this month, Trump unveiled a new nickname for him: ‘Ron DeSanctimonious.’

And he later issued a veiled threat.

‘I don’t know that he’s running. I think if he runs he could hurt himself very badly, I really believe he could hurt himself badly,’ said Trump.

He went on to hint he was ready to go on the attack with personal details.

‘But if he did run I could tell you things bout him that won’t be very flattering. I know more about him other than perhaps his wife – who’s really running about his campaign.
