Big blow to PSG as Kylian Mbappe out for 3 weeks with thigh injury, misses Champions League vs Bayern Munich

PSG have suffered a major blow in the form of an injury to their star French striker Kylian Mbappe, which ruled him out for 3 weeks on Thursday, February 2. The injury occurred in the match, which the club won 3–1 on Wednesday, 1 February. Mbappe will miss the Champions League tie with Bayern Münche as well as the French Cup last-16 match against Olympique de Marseille. It should not be forgotten that PSG will play 5 matches between February 4 and February 19 and Mbappe will be absent in all these matches. “Following tests, Kylian Mbappe has suffered a left thigh injury at the level of the femoral biceps,” PSG said in a club statement.

PSG defender Sergio Ramos is also injured but has not yet been ruled out. The club said further tests would take place on Thursday before a final decision on Ramos’ fitness could be made.
PSG were awarded a penalty via video replays in the seventh minute when central defender Christopher Julian was adjudged to have pulled down Sergio Ramos. Goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte saved Mbappe’s first attempt and made an excellent save to push Mbappe’s effort onto the right post, after the referee ordered it to be taken again.
