Boss Butler: Netizens go crazy as Butler smashes 160 vs Netherlands
Jos Buttler was in carnage mode as England scripted history by scoring 498/4 in their ODI against Netherlands in the first innings at the VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen on Friday (June 17). Centuries from Jos Buttler, David Malan and Philippe Salt gave England massive scores in the first innings, when the Netherlands won the toss and decided to bowl first in the first ODI of the three-match series. England lost opener Jason Roy at 1 (7) early on, but Phil Salt 122 (93) and David Malan 125 (109) got England off to a great start.
Later, Jos Buttler came in at number four and bundled out the Netherlands bowling attack for an unbeaten 162 in just 70 balls. Buttler hit 7 fours and 14 sixes with an explosive strike rate of 231 in England’s overall world record.
The right-hander was concentrating on the song tonight and many were expecting a double-ton from the man in form. He remained unbeaten as Liam Livingstone joined the party later and guided England to a colossal total of 498/4 after 50 overs.
Even West Indies batsman Shai Hope could not keep calm after a dominating performance from England and a blistering knock from Jos Buttler. Hope responded via his Twitter account by writing ‘Carnage’ on his tweet. Interestingly, Buttler reached the 100-run mark in just 47 balls, making him the fastest (46 balls), second fastest (47 balls) and third fastest (50 balls) English player to do so. England hit a total of 26 sixes en route to the record and Butler hit 14 of them. Cricket fans across the world could not keep calm after England’s record-breaking total and Jos Buttler’s blistering knock against the Netherlands.

Jos Buttler also tops the list with hundreds with Hammering and Salt, Malan. 3 players to score centuries in ODIs. ridiculous! And also a great ending cameo by Livingstone. The British conquered the Dutch. Pirates of England! #NEDvENG – jainam mehta (@Jainam09) June 17, 2022
Jos Buttler’s 47-ball ODI century misses him from Jos Buttler (46 balls vs Pakistan, 2015) to take the record for England’s fastest ODI century, but he leads Jos Buttler (50 balls vs Pakistan, 2019) get second place. ) in third#NEDvENG
