New Delhi: The much-awaited trailer of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s film Brahmastra was released on Wednesday. Ever since the release of the trailer, the fans are gushing about it. Now that the trailer is out, Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji reveals what caused the delay and how Ranbir Kapoor got involved. Speaking to Times of India, Ayan said that when Ranbir was supposed to start preparing for Brahmastra, he decided to start Sanju first, and this angered him.
“When I started preparing for Brahmastra, Ranbir was offered Sanju. He was supposed to start preparing with me, but he chose to start Sanju first. I was very angry. I was happy that he was with Raju Hirani. Was working but what about my project?,” Times of India quoted Ayan Mukerji as saying.
Ayan Mukerji said that he is glad that Ranbir took the right decision as even after the release of Sanju, he could not complete the pre-production of Brahmastra. He said, “But in the end, I am happy that Ranbir chose to work on Sanju, because after a few years, Sanju was prepared to shoot, edit and release and my pre-production was not even complete. Ranbir would have waited for me, it would have been a very long wait.”
This will be Ayan Mukerji’s third consecutive film with Ranbir Kapoor after Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Ayan Mukerji also revealed his plans to shoot for the second and third parts of Brahmastra. Talking to Times of India, he said, “We will plan to shoot for the second and third parts after the release of the first film.” He further added, “The entire trilogy will tell the same story but the next films will introduce new characters and bring new perspectives to the story of Brahmastra.”
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
