Candy Baath actress Flora Saini accuses ex-boyfriend of killing her, Shraddha Walker gets solidarity with the case
New Delhi: Actress Flora Saini, who has worked in several Hindi, Kannada and Tamil films, opened up about her sexual harassment by her ex-boyfriend in a recent interview. The Streak-acclaimed actress recalled the domestic violence and sexual harassment she experienced in 2007, which she first spoke publicly about in 2018 during the MeToo movement. She was earlier in a relationship with producer Gaurang Doshi.
Flora told News 18, “Initially he was very sweet. Very nice, my parents were also fooled that he was a good boy. But slowly, your parents see the red flags. In Shraddha’s case, that’s what happened. They cut you off from your family first, and so did I.” I left the house and in a week with him, I was humiliated. I couldn’t understand why he was hitting me all of a sudden, because in my eyes he was the one. A very nice guy.’
And, “One night, he hit me and I broke my jaw. He took a picture of his father and warned me that he would swear to my father that he would kill you tonight. When he looked back at the photograph. Frame back, in that one second, my mother’s voice. It echoed in my ears, at such a moment you should run – pas pak, mad soch ki kapte behne hai ya nahi, paise hain ya nahi, pas pak. I ran and decided I would never come back to my house.”
Flora shared that she initially refused to file her complaint and spoke to her ex on the phone, telling him she was here to file a complaint. But eventually, she managed to file a handwritten complaint against her ex-boyfriend.
In his interview, he tried to draw parallels with the shocking and spine-chilling Shraddha Walker case from Delhi, where her live-in partner Aftab Poonawala brutally murdered her.
