Coke Studio Bharat kicks off a new season with independent artists, promoting cultural diversity

MUMBAI: After the huge success of Coke Studio globally, Coca-Cola has announced the launch of ‘Coke Studio Bharat’ in Mumbai today. The season brings together more than 50 artistes from across the country to create more than 10 memorable songs that celebrate the roots of Bharat.
The Indian music industry is undergoing a revolution and Gen Z is driving the change. Today, young people seek authenticity, greater freedom of expression and to immerse themselves in different forms of music that are expressive, unique, different, yet meaningful. This season by Coke Studio, emerging artistes and veteran artists from India’s hinterland have come together to lend their unique voices to the songs.
Coke Studio Bharat: ‘Apna Sunao’ humbles itself to be a conduit for the unique voices of these talented artists to tell the story of culturally rooted Bharat, embracing today’s new music. The stage will present music that pays homage to the different parts of India, the artists call home, stories rich in history, different languages and using different instruments to create magical melodies.
Today, Indian artistes proudly tell their stories, not only in genuine and authentic regional voices, but are loved by fans across the globe. ‘Apna Sunao’ rightly celebrates this spirit of new India and this original and independent concept is built on freedom.

This season of Coke Studio is curated by renowned, award-winning music composer and beloved lyricist Ankur Tiwari. Breathing the mantra ‘Apna Sunao’, Ankur has teamed up with critically acclaimed poet, lyricist and screenwriter Kausar Muniralod, award-winning sound engineer and music producer K.J. Together they have selected regional gems to give their sound a new voice.
