Crypto.com Accidentally Sent $10.5 Million to Customer Instead of $100 Refund

According to 7News, two Melbourne women, Manivel Thewamanogri and her sister Gangadori Thewamanogri, received deposits of AUD$10.5 million from Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com after the latter made an error in giving an AUD$100 refund. An employee allegedly put an account number in the payment box instead of the refund amount, resulting in an incorrect transfer to his bank account. According to the court filing, the beneficiary used to purchase a grand property immediately after receiving a portion of the funds.
