On International World Yoga Day 2022, Ira Trivedi, a yoga teacher and teacher who started practicing at the age of 11, talks about the many health benefits that yoga can do. She has been practicing and teaching yoga around the world for over 25 years. Ira was part of the team that organized the first International Yoga Day in New Delhi, setting two Guinness World Records. In an exclusive chat with Zee News Digital, Ira Trivedi shared tips on how to incorporate yoga into your daily life by following some simple steps:

K. What difference did yoga make in your life?

A. Yoga has brought a huge change in my life. I never imagined that this could be done with such simple physical training but it certainly has. The transition began with doing 10 minutes of yoga a day. So it brings physical well-being and of course mental and emotional well-being. And spiritual evolution is wonderful.

K. What is the reason for the popularity of yoga in the world today?

A. As the popularity of yoga in the world is increasing, its benefits are immense and I felt very deeply that it could spread like wildfire and become the biggest export of yoga to the world.

K. Can you name the celebrities you have trained with?

A. I coached the late former President of India Pranab Mukherjee and his wife. Also, 8 years ago I led the first International Day of Yoga. That was the first International Day of Yoga, which produced the genius book of world achievements. So I got the benefits of teaching so many wonderful people and high level yoga, it was awesome.

K. Share your quick yoga tips

A. Yoga does not have to be like an hour, keep in mind that it can be 10 – 15 minutes. Kabal Pathi and Anulom Vilom, I started my day by doing breathing exercises and sun salutations. Remember that simplicity is best.

K. What asanas can you do daily despite busy schedules?

A. Yoga is a very beautiful and targeted practice. For example, there is no need to do long asana exercises. If you suffer from PCOD or PCOS, make sure that the seat, the hula hoop, and the fish seat – one minute each, i.e. 3 minutes. If you suffer from back pain or lower back pain, Sethu Bandha Sarvangasana is very effective. If you are suffering from tight femurs, doing Janushirshasana, Pathahastasana would be very wonderful. So you can definitely do yoga that can help you depending on your problem.
