'Failure comes in waves...' says Ekta R Kapoor about her journey

New Delhi: Mistress of all things Ekta R Kapoor is today the leading lady of the entertainment world who needs no introduction. The producer is truly the epitome of a successful businesswoman who has made a name for herself in her own industry and certainly has no competition. Be it Indian TV, Movies or OTT, Ekta is the female producer who has conquered all entertainment channels. However, this success didn’t come easily to him and the producer has certainly paved a long road to success through his learnings to come out of tough failures.

Today Ekta knows every nerve of the Indian audience which can be seen in her TV serials, movies and web series. The fact that the producer is so precise about the audience’s taste today is a sheer learning of his failures. Having produced nearly 140 TV shows and around 45 films, Ekta R Kapoor is perhaps one of the first female producers in the country to tackle women-centric stories. He was the first to launch an Indian OTT platform called ALTBalaji. Also, the entrepreneur launched her first reality show ‘Lock Up’ on ALT Balaji which became a huge success.

During a recent interview, Ekta was seen talking about her journey from failure to success in the Indian entertainment industry, saying, “Failure hits in waves, it hits a point in your life where you feel it’s all over, but you bounce back. However, early in your career At the point, you don’t know very well, which makes you think, “Well, this is it. I knew it wasn’t really going to work, and from there, I would. This loser kid can’t do anything and destroy his father’s investment and everything.” I had some negative thoughts at an early age. A lot of it came from these fatty-duddy uncles, some very experienced and some very special, telling me how to do things. I think. But the fact is that it is difficult to resist a young man, and especially a woman, taking the position of a producer, which is not only the highest place in the creative hierarchy, but also the most important determining factor.

She added, “So, in the beginning, you deal with it because you want to be the nice, sweet girl who listens to everyone. But very soon, I realized that it’s not working because I’m paying for other people’s mistakes. I want to make my own and pay for them.”

Ekta has been a master of all genres of content. After winning over her TV audience with series like Ragini MMS, Ragini MMS 2 and Kya Kool Hai Hum, the comedy-drama franchise Kyunki Saas Bi Kabhi Bahu Di and Kasauti Zindagi Ke, Ekta R Kapoor has done it all. He has also produced films focused on today’s youth like Uddha Punjab and Veere De Wedding. While Ekta seems to be all over the place when it comes to content, she doesn’t delve into children’s stories. It will be exciting to know if he ever comes up with shows and movies around kids. Wait!
