Gangubai Kathiawadi BO Collection Day 1: Alia Bhatt-starrer garners Rs 10 cr!
New Delhi: Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi releases in theaters on February 25 and has garnered rave reviews from fans and critics alike. B-Town has also praised Alia’s career-defining performance and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s amazing direction.
The box office collection on the first day of the film was also nothing short of phenomenal. According to Boxofficeindia.com, the film has an opening of 10 crores on the first day and the collection of the first day in Mumbai can reach the collection of Ranveer Singh’s ’83’.
The website said: ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi has done well on day one and the collections are likely to come in the 9.50-10 crore net range as the film has scored well in the Mumbai circuit. The first day collection in Mumbai circuit could be 83 or more which was a big film. It will depend on where the small centers land in Maharashtra in the morning.
The film is adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Ganga Harjivandas, an ordinary girl from Kathiawar.
Gangubai Kathiawadi takes us into the life of Gangubai played by Alia Bhatt. The grand saga of SLB is set in the early ’60s and features the leading lady as a brothel owner and matriarch.
