Mumbai: The shooting of the crime-thriller drama ‘Vikram Veda’ starring Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte has come to an end. Filming of the film started in October 2021 and after various schedules in Abu Dhabi, Lucknow and Mumbai, the primary photography of the film has been successfully completed. Post-production work is in full swing and ‘Vikram Veda’ is set to release on September 30, 2022 in a large number of theaters across the world.

The film stars Rohit Saraf, Yokita Bihani, Sharif Hashmi and Satyadeep Misra in promising roles.

Taken as an action thriller, the film is based on the popular Indian folk tale ‘Vikram Aur Pettal’. It tells the story of a tough police officer (Saif Ali Khan) who finds a threatening mob (Hrithik Roshan) and starts hunting. The upcoming Hindi film is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster film of the same name released in 2017, in which R Madhavan plays a police officer and Vijay Sethupathi a gangster. The filmmaker duo Pushkar and Gayatri, who directed the original film, have also directed the Hindi version.

Hrithik Roshan has to step out of the axis of being a hero to play the role of Vedha and step into a new territory. “Becoming a Veda was like I had never done before. I had to break the axis of ‘hero’ and step into an area that was not fully explored as an actor. The journey was like I was graduating. My relentless directors Pushkar & Gayatri kept me on a treadmill and quietly pushed me to push the boundaries.” The 48-year-old actor said in a statement.

“Looking back, I became the Veda I did because Vikram Saif Ali Khan was powerful. He is unique in every way,” the ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ actor added.

Saif Ali Khan said that working in the movement of Pushkar and Gayatri was a fruitful experience. The 51-year-old star said, “Pushkar and Gayatri are an energetic couple with great creativity. Working with them has been very rewarding. Working with Hrithik and starring in some intense action scenes has enhanced my experience.”

Both the director said that he had an exciting experience in filming with Roshan and Khan. “With our super talented and amazing team, we were able to achieve what we thought in one script.

‘Vikram Veda’ is co-produced by Kulshan Kumar, D-Series Films and Reliance Entertainment, Friday Filmworks and YNOD Studios. It is produced by S. Sashikant and produced by Bhushan Kumar.

It is scheduled to release in theaters around the world on September 30th.
