IND vs SA, 2nd T20I: Quinton de Kock set to become 2nd cricketer after MS Dhoni to achieve THIS major milestone

Rishabh Pant-led Team India will take on South Africa in the second T20I at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday. After losing the first T20I in Delhi, India will aim to bounce back while South Africa will be looking to continue the winning momentum. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock is on the verge of achieving a special record in T20I cricket. De Kock is one catch away from taking 50 catches in the shortest format of the game.

Former India captain MS Dhoni holds the record for taking most catches as a wicketkeeper in T20Is. The Chennai Super Kings batsman has 57 catches to his name, while Denesh Ramdin (43), Matthew Wade (39) and Jos Buttler (37) are in the list.

Meanwhile, South Africa lead the series 1-0 after winning the first T20I by seven wickets. Fifties from David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen helped the visitors chase down a colossal total of 212 runs. After losing their top three on 81, Miller and van der Dussen shared a match-winning 131-run partnership. Miller continued his stellar form from the IPL and scored a Player of the Match performance – 64* off 31 balls. He picked up the pace when he hit two sixes and a four in Axar Patel’s over and later accused the pacers of guiding his team to victory.

Van der Dussen, at the other end, was as impressive as Miller. After rotating the strike at the start of his innings, he headed towards the end and smashed a string of fours in Harshal’s over to complete his fifty in 37 balls. Van der Dussen then continued his attack and took South Africa across the boundary in the final over.
