India vs Leicestershire: Bumrah bowls to Rohit, Krishna dismisses Iyer, watch

India vs Leicestershire Warm-up Clash: As expected, India won the toss in the warm-up game vs Leicestershire and opted to bat first. Usually in such practice games, the visiting team likes to test their batting on foreign soil to get used to the swing, track and conditions. India did the same and the batsman fought hard.
Captain Rohit Sharma, who is celebrating his 15 years in international cricket today, could only manage 25 runs while opening partner Shubman Gill scored 21 runs in 28 balls. Both these openers hit a total of 7 fours. Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer fell cheaply on scores of 3 and 0 respectively. Virat Kohli had a good time in the middle, playing 69 balls to score 33 of them, which included 4 fours and 1 six. Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, scored only 13 runs as the Indian batsmen are struggling.
The biggest highlight of the day was when Jasprit Bumrah came to bowl for Leicestershire. As reported earlier, he, Krishna, Rishabh Pant are playing for Leicestershire in this practice clash and this arrangement has resulted in Bumrah bowling for the first time in any cricket. Bumrah went without a wicket but Krishna managed to hit a six off Shreyas Iyer’s bat and took a wicket.
Kohli also looked set, but fell victim to Roman Walker, who picked up a five-fer for himself.
The best batsman in the show on the first day of the Indian camp was KS Bharat, who was batting on 34 from tea. He was batting alongside Umesh Yadav, who was unbeaten on 8, when the second session ended and India were 175/7 in 46 overs. India will be hoping to bat all day and then let the bowlers go on day two. If India manage to score 300, they should consider it a good first innings score.
