Bollywood star Anushka Sharma couldn’t stop praising her husband Virat Kohli after Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) scored his sixth career hundred in the Indian Premier League. Kohli’s sensational 100 off 63 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad has put his team on the brink of qualification for the IPL 2023 playoff stage.

Many videos and pictures of Virat and Anushka talking on video call started surfacing on social media. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis’ breathtaking partnership of 172 sealed an impressive win and two crucial points for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after pulling off a remarkable chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Kohli ended a four-year long wait for a century in the Indian Premier League. This was Kohli’s first century in the ongoing IPL 2023 – he equaled former teammate Chris Gayle (6) for the most hundreds in league history. The star batsman notched up his first IPL century since April 2019.
Notably, Kohli now has the joint-highest number of centuries in the history of the league along with Chris Gayle (6). “I sometimes don’t give myself enough credit because I already put myself under too much stress. It doesn’t matter to me what anyone outside says. It’s their opinion. When you’re in that situation yourself So you know how cricket matches are won. I’ve done it for a long time. It’s not that when I play I don’t win matches for my team. It’s playing in a position I take pride in is,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation.
“I have never been a guy who plays so many fancy shots – was chatting with Aiden as well. We have to play 12 months of the year. For me it is not about playing fancy shots and throwing my wicket away. We have got Test cricket after IPL, we have to live up to our technique. When I can make an impact in an important game, it gives me confidence, it gives confidence to the team.”
RCB will next take on Gujarat Titans in their final league match on Sunday and a win over the defending champions could ensure their entry into the playoff stage.
