Jasprit Bumrah said on becoming the captain of Team India, said- ‘Don’t want to chase things’
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is the vice-captain for the current series against Sri Lanka.
The selectors and captain Rohit himself have said that Bumrah along with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are being hailed as leaders for tomorrow.
On the prospect of captaining the Indian team one day, Bumrah wants to keep quiet and do his job. He doesn’t want to think too much about captaincy.
Bumrah said that he doesn’t go around looking for “posts” but if the team is given the responsibility of leading the team, he will “never shy away”.
“I don’t like chasing things because I don’t want to… see I’m a person who believes that God has a plan and everything will find its way, so I don’t like to hinder the plan from being there.” I never try to change anything.
“Whatever role is asked of me, I will do it to the best of my ability. I do not want to change the whole organization, you are always a leader. When you are a senior member of the team it is just a position. Comes with you .
“Basically, you try to help everyone in any capacity. Even in Mumbai Indians, you have a lot of senior players, but now I am one of the senior players, so you help the captain. , you help everyone, you take a leadership role even when you are not asked.
“I look at it that way. I never want to, you know, just for personal satisfaction. It’s okay that I want to be in it. I have to be captain. It’s just a position, it’s just a name, you have to do It is your job and you have to help people in every possible way.
“Yes, if given a chance in any scenario, it would be an honor and I would never shy away from it, but it is something I am not looking for.”
