Kapil Dev and Anju Bobby collide with each other in flight; see viral picture
Veteran Indian athlete Anju Bobby George on Sunday posted a picture of her traveling business class from New Delhi to Bengaluru with cricket legend Kapil Dev and captioned it, “1983 and 2003 flying from Delhi to Bangalore together Indian sports as fans marvel at the two legends.
While Kapil Dev led the Indian team to their maiden World Cup defeating West Indies at Lord’s in 1983, retired long jumper Anju Bobby George created history by winning a bronze medal at the 2003 World Championships in Paris.
With this feat, she became the first Indian athlete to win a medal at the World Championships in Athletics.
Anju tweeted on Sunday afternoon, “1983 & 2003 flying together from Delhi to Bangalore. It was a surprise meeting after a few years @therealkapildev.”

Anju, who currently holds several key positions in the government’s Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and Khelo India, recently posted pictures of her sports foundation and wrote, “Our team and our dream place. (Athletics) The track is nearing completion.”
