Kapil Sharma actress Upasana Singh has filed a case against Miss Universe Harnas Sandhu

Chandigarh: Filmmaker Upasana Singh on Thursday filed a case against Miss Universe Harnas Sandhu in a local court, alleging that she did not honor the contract she signed to promote the Punjabi film.

Singh has filed a civil suit in the Chandigarh District Court for alleged breach of contract against Sandhu, who starred in his film ‘Bhai Ji Kutange’.

“I gave Harnas an opportunity to act in ‘Bhai Ji Kutange’. Apart from that, Harnas has played the heroine in ‘Yara Dhyan Poo Paran’,” he told reporters outside the court.

Sandhu, who won the title of Miss Universe 2021, was required to appear in person for the promotion of the film as per her contract with Santhosh Entertainment Studio LLP, the producer said. But Singh said he refused to give a date for the film’s promotion.

Sandhu had no immediate comment on Singh’s allegations. “I gave her a chance when she wasn’t Miss Universe,” Singh said. “I spent a lot of money on this film. It’s not a low-budget film.”

He said that the release of the movie should be postponed from May 27 to August 19. Directed by Smeep Kang, ‘Boi Ji Kutange’ stars Dev Garruth and Gurpreet Kuki.

Harnas Sandhu won the title of Miss Universe at the event held in Israel last December. Only two Indians, actress Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Laura Dutta in 2000, have won the title before.
