New Delhi: Popular director Vishal Furia, who helmed the 2021 OTT super hit movie “Soori”, has approached Kashmiri Mahajani for an exclusive role in “Soori 2”.
Kashmir and Vishal had already done a TV series for Discovery and were looking for a collaboration where the character would justify Kashmir’s role or vice versa. So, when the role was created in “Soori 2”, the team approached Kashmir and when director Vishal’s name was heard he immediately agreed to play the role.
The 2016 Marathi film “Lappa Subhi” followed by 2021’s “Sorry”, the Hindi remake of “Lappa Subhi”, is a popular film that left Mahajani boldly in the horror genre.
“Sorry 2” is primarily a female-oriented film and goes from a woman’s point of view, but the other half of the film is from a male character’s point of view, his supporting character and character. Mahajani acted. There is a lot of action, adventure and intrigue in this role.
There are layers to the character, which Kashmir feels he can pull off well as an actor. This character really created excitement and was not part of the “Sorry” prequel, but has now been seeded in “Sorry 2”.
Mahajani said that Nushrat Bharuchha is happy to work with the film’s lead and she is a pleasant and professional woman to work with.
The movie “Soori 2” will soon hit the platforms and Kashmir is not only shooting for the film but also shooting for a show with Colors. The dates are well worked out and managed by the film crew.
Mahajani notes, “It will be a marathon shoot for him between various upcoming projects and he will be busy bouncing from Film City to Filmistan and Filmistan to Film City.”
He feels that playing this role is good fun and lives in a place where an actor expects constant work, good work, interesting work and diverse roles. Only one look test was conducted for this film. Mahajani as an actor always wanted to collaborate with director Vishal.
The role and the script were not read by Mahajani, but she was explained one line in 10 minutes, and she decided to do the role because she had blind faith in Vishal. The costume trial is done and the hair is styled. Mahajani plays the character of a policeman. The director was very clear about the character and knew what was expected from the character.
Mahajani’s all-time favorite horror movies from Bollywood are Ram Gopal Varma’s “Raath” and Vishal Furia’s “Lappa Chappi” and “Soori”. From Hollywood, he likes “The Conjuring” and “Orphan” from the latest horror genre, although “Orphan” is not horror, but it has a scary feel. So, these films are his favorite.
