NEW DELHI: Veteran Oriya film and drama artist Roymohan Barita was found hanging at his home in Prachi Vihar area of Bhubaneswar on Friday.
He is 58 years old.
Parita has a wife and two daughters.
This morning his family found him hanging from the ceiling of his room.
First, it looks like a suicide case, but further investigation is underway, a police official said, adding that the body will be sent for autopsy.
Many actors visited Barita’s house and paid their respects.
Known for her negative roles, Parita has acted in more than 100 Oriya films and 15 Bengali films. Also popular in the theater.
Siddhanta Mahabatra, a well-known actor who has acted in many films with Parita, said, “It is hard to believe that a jolly man who has experienced many ups and downs in life would think to do this. He was very successful. In business.”
Another actor Sridham Das says that it is unbelievable that Parita, the “hero from zero” can commit suicide.
Barita’s neighbor met him on Thursday and said he appeared to be in his usual guise and that he had a good relationship with everyone.
A native of Keonjhar district, Parita has acted in many superhit films including ‘Rama Laxman’, ‘Asibu Kebe Saji Mo Rani’, ‘Naga Panchami’, ‘Uthandi Sita’, ‘Tu Thile Mo Dhara Kahagu’ and ‘Rana Bhoomi’. , ‘Singa Bahini’, ‘Kulanandan’ and ‘Kandei Akre Luha’.
