Microsoft Corp said on Wednesday that the company will stop implementing existing non-compete clauses in the United States, while also committing to a civil rights audit of its workforce policies in 2023.

The Redmond, Washington-based software firm said changes to enforcement of the non-compete clause would not apply to the company’s most senior leadership.

Microsoft said a civil rights audit of its workforce policies and practices will be conducted by a third party and a report will be published.

The software firm aims to have wage limits in all internal and external job postings of the company across the US by at least January 2023. It will also no longer include confidentiality language in its US settlement and separation agreements that bar workers from disclosing their conduct. considered illegal.
