Nayantara, who married Vignesh Shiva in an intimate ceremony, seeks the couple’s blessings
Chennai: Director Vignesh Sivan married actress Nayanthara on Thursday in a grand and glittering ceremony in the presence of close family and film friends.
At 10.24 am, Vignesh Sivan tied the sacred ‘thali’ around actress Nayantara’s neck while the wedding guests showered their blessings on the newlyweds.
Sources said that the two came down from the stage after the wedding and were blessed by actor Rajinikanth who was sitting next to Shah Rukh Khan and director Mani Ratnam in the audience.
The couple has arranged to serve lunch to more than one lakh people across the state as part of their wedding arrangements. Food is to be provided to inmates in orphanages and nursing homes across the state. Apart from this, ‘Annadanam’ arrangements at selected temples have also been made by famous couples and their wedding has caught everyone’s eye.
The event was attended by superstars Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, director Mani Ratnam, actors Surya, Karthi and Jyotika among others.
Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who gave a big break to Vignesh Sivan with the film ‘Nanum Rowdy Thaan’, came with his entire family to greet and congratulate the couple on their special day.
The function was attended by celebrities including directors Mohan Raja, Siva, KS Ravikumar, Aadli and actors Sarathkumar, Radhika, SJ Surya and composer Anirudh.
As more than 80 bouncers were deployed on security duty, a large number of police were mobilized.
