PBKS vs DC Probable Playing XI: Shaw ready to return for DelhiAuthor: Yuvi May 16, 2022
Two teams battling for consistency, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, will be aiming to outdo each other to keep their play-off hopes alive in IPL 2022 on Monday (May 16). Both teams have yet to win one win this season, but neither side can afford another loss in their remaining league games.
Punjab is on the seventh position in the points table with 12 points and a net run rate of +0.023. The Capitals also have a dozen points and are fifth due to a healthy NRR of +0.210, which will give them an advantage if two or more teams finish on the same number of points.
Capitals’ confidence increased after an eight-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals, while Punjab thrashed RCB in their previous game.
While opener David Warner continues to enjoy his purple patch, the second opening slot remains a cause for concern with Mandeep Singh and Srikar India failing miserably in the absence of Prithvi Shaw.
However, Shaw, who was suffering from typhoid, has been discharged from the hospital and the youngster is likely to return to the team to play a crucial match on Monday.
To DC’s relief, Michelle Marsh finally joins the party. The big-hitting all-rounder rocked Jung to become a star with bat and ball against RR. He and Warner’s role will be important.
On the other hand, PBKS, who won their last game against RCB, are unlikely to make any changes in their side.
