Priyanka Chopra suggests a Google search for American actress who called American actress ‘Something Chopra’
Priyanka Chopra isn’t impressed by American actor-comedian Rosie O’Donnell’s non-apology (and neither are we). In a note shared on her Instagram Stories, Priyanka suggested a Google search before describing what she described as a “public apology for a very awkward private encounter”. Backstory – Rosie O’Donnell runs into Priyanka, whom she didn’t know, and Nick Jonas, whom she did know, at a restaurant and embarrasses herself by telling Priyanka that she knows her father, Rosie O’Donnell Donnell Priyanka thought she was the daughter of writer Deepak Chopra. I never took myself so seriously to think that everyone would know who I am, or my job for that matter. In a video shared on Instagram this week, Rosie O’Donnell opened up about Priyanka being told at the restaurant that Chopra is a common Indian surname and that Deepak Chopra is not her father. In the second video, shared after comments on the first suggestion of Priyanka being rude, Rosie O’Donnell said, people thought she was rude but she was not rude, it was just weird. Obviously she is a very famous actress and more famous people were telling her (Nick). So I’m sure he felt weird at first. Anyway, her name is Priyanka. And I just want to apologize to him and everyone who thought it was unfair to me.”
He did not apologize for dismissing Priyanka, who had a leading role in the fourth Matrix film last year, as “Koi Chopra” and “Chopra Wife”.
People do this consistently with superstar and massively successful actor and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra. Last December, she schooled the Daily Mail, which described her as “Nick Jonas’ wife.” Earlier last year, he cut to an Australian journalist who questioned why Priyanka had to announce her Oscar nominations. Attaching a run-through of her extensive film credits, Priyanka tweeted, “Would love your thoughts on what someone deserves. Here’s my 60+ film credits for your consideration.”
The cut followed Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding in 2018 – calling Priyanka “a global scam artist” and suggesting that Nick was drawn into a “fraudulent relationship against her will”. The article was twisted and removed and the journalist who wrote it apologized. Priyanka has also been confused with Yukta Mukhi – both of whom won the Miss World pageant – by an American network.
Priyanka Chopra, whose international credits include Quantico, Ain’t It Romantic, Baywatch and Netflix’s The White Tiger, recently welcomed a daughter with Nick Jonas. He has several projects in the line-up including the series Citadel directed by the Russo Brothers.
