Salman Khan, who participated in the Green India Challenge, has urged fans to plant trees

HYDERABAD: Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Wednesday urged his fans to plant saplings and plant trees to protect the environment during the Green India challenge here. Salman planted a sapling at Ramoji Film City during the shooting of his next film ‘Kabi Eid Kabi Deepavali’.
He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP and Green India founder J. Santosh Kumar and his crew.
The actor praised the work done by the MP. “Planting a tree is a very good thing. I do not know why people are interested in cutting down a tree. If a man stops growing, they will tell you to plant a tree. The tree is still man, man is a walking tree. This bond is very important,” Salman said.
Underlining the importance of the garden, he said, “Where there is a tree, there is water.”
Salman said every person should take responsibility for the garden project and maintain adequate amount of saplings until large trees grow. He said it was unfortunate that human casualties due to natural calamities, heavy rains and floods were huge and the only solution was to encourage massive plantations to prevent human casualties.
Santosh Kumar thanked the Bollywood star for accepting his request and joining the Green India Challenge. He said that Salman’s effort in planting saplings will definitely inspire his millions of fans.
