‘Shamsher’ star Ranbir Kapoor says his dad would have loved me in an action movie

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen as a top Hindi film hero for the first time in ‘Samshera’, thinks his father Rishi Kapoor would have liked to see him in the upcoming action comedy film. The ‘Sanju’ actor said that his father always wanted his son to play a hero who could connect with audiences across the country.
He said, “I wish my father had been alive to see this film. If he liked or disliked something, especially in my work he would always openly express his criticism. So, it’s sad that he did not go. I should watch it. I’m so glad I got it, and somewhere he’s been looking for me, hoping he’s proud of me.
Ranbir further said, ‘Samshera’ is his attempt to speak to an Indian audience, “I definitely want to grow as an actor and a star. Shamshera is definitely a positive step towards that. You want to make a film that has more viewers. ”
“Shamshara is a step towards that but the film is not out yet. I’m eager to know how people will accept me in this area, but I’m so glad I got to play a role like this too,” he added.
The plot of the upcoming film is set in the fictional city of Gaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by the ruthless dictator General Shud Singh. Based on the pre-independence period, ‘Shamshera’ depicts the story of Ranbir Kapoor-led bandits whose sole purpose is to fight against the cruelty of the ruthless enemy, played by Sanjay Dutt for the villagers.
The one minute teaser of ‘Shamshera’ directed by Karan Malhotra is very interesting and the ‘Rockstar’ actor looks tough in this action drama. The film stars Ranbir opposite Sanjay Dutt and Vani Kapoor in the lead roles. It is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2022 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
