Shamsher trailer released: Ranbir starrer ‘Serious Robber And Ruthless Policeman’
New Delhi: The trailer of the much awaited Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Shamsher’ has been released. Yash Raj Films on Friday released the trailer for the first double role of his career, the period action film starring Ranbir. Sanjay Dutt and Vani Kapoor appeared in the trailer.
Set in the 1800s, ‘Shamshera’ tells the story of a bandit tribe who fight for independence against British rule in the fictional city of Gaza. Ranbir played the role of a slave in the film ‘Shamshara’ who became the leader to save his tribe. Sanjay plays the enemy of Daroga Shud Singh who enslaved the warriors.
Vani appears as Sona, a dancer who captures the heart of Shamshara. She warned him not to go against the British
Sanjay Dutt, who plays the main enemy, is seen as a ruthless cop in the film. He is brought to Gaza to capture a bandit named Shamshara. At the end of the trailer, it is confirmed that Ranbir will appear in a double role in the same frame as the father-son duo. This is the first time Ranbir has acted in a double role. This is the first time we see the actor ‘Saawariya’ performing some daring stunts in an action movie.

Karan Malhotra is directing ‘Shamshera’ produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The main photo shoot of ‘Shamshara’ started in December 2018 and the shooting of the film was completed in 2020. The film also stars Ashutosh Rana, Saurabh Shukla, Ronit Roy, Tritha Chaudhary and Pitobash Tripathi. In order to prepare for his role, Vani Kapoor received professional training in Kathak.
The film was originally scheduled to release on December 20, 2019, but was delayed several times due to the Govt-19 epidemic. Now, it is scheduled for worldwide release on July 22, 2022. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and will be released on IMAX.
