Sidhu Moosewala’s new song ‘SYL’ Punjab water problem removed from YouTube

New Delhi: The latest song released after the assassination of Sidhu Moosewala, titled SYL, referring to the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal, has now been removed from video streaming site YouTube.
The song about the water problem in Punjab, talks about the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal, which is the apple of the long-standing conflict between Punjab and Haryana. Producer MXRCI released the music video, which was composed by Sidhu Moosewala before he was shot dead on May 29, on YouTube on Friday, June 23. However, by clicking on the link in the video, a message will now be displayed stating, “This content is not available on this country’s domain due to a legal complaint from the government.”
The song shows the undivided Punjab, 1984 anti-Sikh riots and its videos showing the Sikh flag being hoisted at the Red Fort during the peasant struggle. Since its launch, Moose Walla’s song SYL has garnered over 27 million views and 3.3 million likes on YouTube.
On May 29, Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by Assamese in Jawaharlal Nehru village in Mansa district of Punjab. The incident came a day after Punjab police withdrew his security, including 424 people. It is noteworthy that the singer joined the Congress party before the Assembly elections in December last year.
