SL vs AUS Dream11 Team Prediction, Fantasy Tips: Sri Lanka vs AUS 2nd ODI
Sri Lanka will take on Australia in the second ODI of the five-match series at the Pallekele International Stadium on Thursday (June 16). Australia lead the series 1-0 after winning the rain-hit first ODI by two wickets in the DLS method. Australia’s injury problem worsened on Wednesday as star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of the remaining ODI series against Sri Lanka, Cricket Australia announced.
Matthew Kuhneman and Travis Head have been called in as Stoinis’ replacements for the remaining four ODIs. Stoinis suffered a side strain while batting during the first ODI at Pallekele Stadium, leaving Australia without a fully fit seam-bowling all-rounder.
The 32-year-old will not play any further part in the five-match series. Stoinis scored 44 off 31 to help his team to a two-wicket win at Pallekele on Tuesday. Ashton Agar is unlikely to play any further role in the One Day International series. Agar, who was injured after a two-wicket win over Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening, will remain in Sri Lanka with the ODI side but is looking to regain fitness for the two-Test series in Galle.
Australia has accumulated a growing list of injuries in the early stages of the tour. Fast bowler Kane Richardson has already returned home with a hamstring problem and Mitchell Starc, Sean Abbott and Mitchell Marsh are also out of action and Cameron Greene is not fit enough to bowl against Sri Lanka. With Mitchell Starc still sidelined due to a finger injury, it has turned out to be a scary journey for the Aussies, who have now dropped six players in less than a fortnight.
