Sonu Nigam’s father Rs. 72 lakh looted, ex-Mumbai police driver
Mumbai: The Mumbai police on Wednesday registered a case against the driver of popular singer Sonu Nigam for allegedly stealing Rs 72 lakh from his father’s house. According to the police, the singer’s father Agam Kumar Nigam was suspicious of his former driver, Rehan. “Based on the statement of her father, who suspected her ex-driver Rehan, an FIR has been registered against her at Oshiwara police station,” a Mumbai Police official said.
According to the police, Rehan worked with the singer’s father for about eight months but was not doing well in his work, so he was fired. Sonu Nigam’s sister Nikita said her father kept the stolen Rs 72 lakh in a digital locker built into a wooden cabinet. “At around 12 noon on Sunday, Aghamkumar went to his daughter Nikita’s house in Versova area for lunch and returned after a while to find the almirah of her house open and Rs 40 lakh missing. Rs 40 lakh from his digital locker in a wooden cupboard. Theft has been reported.
The next day, Agam Kumar and his daughter went to Sonu Nigam’s house for some visa related work and when they returned in the evening, they found the balance of Rs. 32 lakh is missing, the complaint further said. . “Both Agam Kumar Nigam and Nikita checked their society’s CCTV footage in which their driver Rehan was seen carrying the bag towards his residence on both days,” the officer added. Police added that a search operation is on for Rehan.
