‘Sushant Singh Rajput was proud of Sonchiriya’: Kushal Zaveri on 3 years of film’s completion
New Delhi: “Pavitra Rishta” director Kushal Zaveri on Tuesday paid tribute to his good friend late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, as the latter’s critically acclaimed film “Sonchiriya” completed three years of its release.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Kushal shared a poster of the film and wrote a powerful caption, celebrating Sushant and urging people to watch the film if they hadn’t already.
The caption read, “3rd anniversary of #sonchiriya He was so proud of this film.. Please watch it if you haven’t.”
The comment section was flooded with people showering love on the film as well as from Sushant.
For the unmatched, a successful Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his home in Bandra on June 14, 2020, and his death has left the hearts of the actors coming through nepotism and those fighting for them. The dispute was revived. Make it for the industry.
Kushal was the director of the TV serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ (2009), which made Sushant a household name. Sushant acted in the serial for two years, and then in Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che!’ Started with his success. (2013), which also starred Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh.
Coming back to ‘Sonchiriya’, it was a slow-burn thriller based on the life of dacoits of Chambal district. It had an ensemble cast including Sushant, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Bhumi Pednekar among others. Its dialogues are completely in Bundeli dialect. The film received critical acclaim but failed to perform at the box office.
Sushant’s last film was ‘Dil Bechara’ (2020), a remake of the cult film ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ (2014).
