Swara Bhaskar wears a lehenga by a Pakistani designer for her Walima and brushes the photos
New Delhi: Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar got married to social activist Fahad Ahmed Khan in February. Photos of the newlyweds flooded social media pages, with netizens showering the couple with congratulatory messages. The couple registered their marriage in January under the Special Marriage Act. Their traditional wedding began with a haldi ceremony on March 11, followed by a night of mehendi, sangeet and qawwali. The newlyweds hosted a grand wedding reception in the national capital on March 16, which was attended by celebrities from entertainment and political circles like Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and Jaya Bachchan.
On Sunday, March 19, Swara and Fahad hosted another wedding reception hosted by the groom’s family. It was mostly attended by his friends. For the second wedding reception, Swara opted for a beige lehenga by a Pakistani designer. She wore a big nose ring and a mata patti. Meanwhile, Fahad opted for a golden kurta with a white sherwani and a white and gold dupatta.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Swara Bhaskar shared a detailed picture of her brown lehenga. She thanked the Pakistani designer for sending her the ensemble ‘across the border’. Sharing a caption, she wrote, “A peek into the beautiful @alixeeshantheaterstudio. Lehenga set that @alixeeshanempire kindly sent me from across the border! Special thanks to @natrani for making this possible (sic)!”
Swara’s husband Fahad Ahmed is the state president of Samajwadi Yuvajan Sabha, the youth wing of the Samajwadi Party. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
Earlier, on March 15, a day before the grand wedding reception, Swara Bhaskar shared some glimpses of a special Qawali night. The event was graced by many prominent personalities. For the occasion, the ‘Veere De Wedding’ actress was decked out in a royal navy blue, velvet ethnic ensemble with intricate designs in gold.
He expressed his gratitude to political leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Prakash Jarwal for attending the post-wedding celebrations. “Delighted & honored to welcome Shri Akhilesh Yadav Ji for Swad Anusar celebrations, Qawwali night…” read part of his caption.
