Seoul: K-pop superband BTS ‘member J-Hope is set to release his debut solo album’ Jack in the Box ‘on July 15. The first single will be released on July 1, according to Variety. According to the official announcement, ‘Jack in the Box’ is giving voice to the aspirations of J-Hop to break the mold and grow further. The album reflects Jay-Hope’s own musical personality and vision as an artist
When announcing the individual plans earlier this month, Jay-Hope said he sees it as a healthy move.
“I think we need to devote some time to learning how to be together again,” he said. “I hope you do not see this as a negative thing and see this as a healthy plan. I think BTS will strengthen in that way.”
Earlier this week, the band’s new album ‘Proof’ was their sixth album to debut on the Billboard 200 charts, despite the theatrical release. Four days before it was dropped, the group announced they were retiring to focus on their personal lives.
The news had little effect on the military, however, with the release of ‘Proof’ No. 1 on the album chart (dated June 25), which equaled 314,000 sales in the United States, according to Billboard via Luminate.
Much of that unit number was driven by CD album sales, which included an additional 13 tracks in contrast to the digital download and streaming album.
Released on June 10, the album is a three-disc set and most of its contents are previously released material.
