Vidu Vidu Chopra has announced '12th Failure', a film based on the life of IAS and IPS officers, Vikrant Massey.

NEW DELHI: It is said that in every street, every village and every city in India, a student dreams of becoming an IAS or IPS officer. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s new film is about these students. After bringing us films like ‘Parinda’, ‘1942: A Love Story’, ‘Mission Kashmir’, The Munnabai franchise, ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘PK’, the producer-director is adapting and directing ’12th Failure’. Anurag Pathak’s best-selling novel of the same name.

The film is based on the real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. But ‘The 12th Failure’ is not so much an autobiography as a portrait of one’s power – how one man or one woman can create seismic change with integrity. ’12th Failure’ was the first film shot in Mukherjee Nagar, New Delhi, which saw the birth of bureaucracy for generations.

Commenting on the film, Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “If an honest person is in a position of power, the world can truly change. I have met countless IAS and IPS officers while writing this film. ’12th Defeat’ is a tribute to all of them. If this film inspires even 10 more officers to strive for integrity and 10 more students to strive for excellence… I believe I have succeeded.”

This film is directed by actor Vikrant Massey. “The tragedy of our time is that honesty and integrity are rare. This film is a dedication to all the students who dream and to all the honest officers who are the backbone of our country and constitution. Working with VVC is a dream come true and a great challenge as he is a consummate director,” he said. .

The team has completed the first schedule of ’12th Failure’ at Sambal in Agra and is currently shooting for the second schedule in Delhi. The film is slated to release in the summer of 2023.
