Vikram Vedha first look out: Hrithik Roshan introduces 'finest actor' Saif Ali Khan

Mumbai: The makers of upcoming neo-noir thriller “Vikram Vedha” on Thursday gave fans the first look of actor Saif Ali Khan, who plays a tough cop. Saif’s ‘Vikram Vedha’ co-star Hrithik Roshan introduced his character on social media. He shared a picture of the actor from the sets of the film and wrote, ‘Vikram’. In the image, Saif looks dapper in a classic combination of a plain white T-shirt with blue jeans. Fans of Saif’s macho and fond avatar as police officer Vikram in the film are swooning over the actor.

The film stars Hrithik and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, along with Radhika Apte in an important role. Pushkar and Gayatri, the original writers and directors, are donning the director’s hat for the Hindi remake as well. Hrithik and Saif are starring in a film together after 20 years, their last joint appearance was in ‘Na Tum Jaano Na Hum’ (2002). In this original Tamil blockbuster, R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi acted.

A cult film in itself, ‘Vikram Vedha’ is based on the Indian meta-folk ‘Vikram Aur Betaal’ and tells the story of a tough police officer who sets out to capture and kill an equally tough gangster. ‘Vikram Vedha’ will mark the actor’s return as a cop after the massive success of ‘Sacred Games’, in which he played Sartaj Singh, a beaten up cop with a second chance to prove himself.

Even in his recent horror-comedy, ‘Bhoot Police’, Saif played Vibhuti, a quirky ghostbuster. The actor has already given audiences two different shades for quintessential cop roles and now, fans want an iteration on his cop avatar with ‘Vikram Vedha’.

‘Vikram Vedha’ is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series Films and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks and Wynot Studios Production. The film is directed by Pushkar and Gayatri and co-produced by S Shashikant and Bhushan Kumar. ‘Vikram Vedha’ will hit the big screens worldwide on 30 September.
