Section 144 has been imposed in the entire area of New Delhi district except Jantar Mantar. Earlier this morning, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack against the government, saying that India is no longer a democracy, but a dictatorship. “India is witnessing the death of democracy,” he told a press conference. “Brick by brick that India built almost a century ago is being destroyed before your eyes. Anyone who stands up against this idea of the beginning of a dictatorship is viciously attacked, imprisoned, arrested and beaten.”
